WASPS DENY QPR THREAT

from the Bucks Free Press 23 April 2004

Wasps chief executive Alistair McLean has denied that Wasps have fallen out with Queens Park Rangers despite reports that the Loftus Road side are considering legal action over the rugby club's decision to remain in Wycombe next season.

QPR boss David Davies was quoted in the Guardian on Saturday saying that they and Wasps had a contract and that QPR expected Wasps to abide by it.

But McLean emphasised that Wasps' contract allowed for an extension to the two-year agreement and that permitted The Men in Black to stay for an extra year in Wycombe.

He said: "Our original agreement clearly states we have an option to stay at Causeway Stadium for another year and we are currently talking to QPR about where we will play rugby for 2005/06 and beyond."
