NEWS ROUND-UP

Monday 19 July

Whoops, we seem to have mislaid a director. On 17 March this year the club announced that Dino Lalvani of our shirt sponsorship company Binatone had joined the board of directors. No news has been heard of him since, and in the last few weeks new chairman Bill Power has spoken several times about the composition and roles of the new board with no mention of Lalvani. Was it all a dream?

Accounts and the AGM. The recently-published accounts covering the year ending May 2003 have left Rangers fans asking "Where's the money gone?". Detailed answers cannot be found in the accounts themselves because the directors have taken advantage of an exemption under the Companies Act 1985 and have not published a straight profit and loss account.

The following figures are nevertheless alarming: "other admin expenses" increased from £161k in 2002 to £500k in 2003; "stadium and operating costs" increased by £750k on the previous year, and yet the amount of rental income from Fulham  only seems to have been £600k.

Shareholders wanting more information will hopefully have an opportunity to ask questions at the AGM on 4 August. Alternatively, questions can be submitted to the.....

Q & A with Bill Power.  A live Q & A with Bill Power will take place on the club's official website around 6.30pm on Wednesday before the Ajax match, and supporters are invited to send in questions on any subject including the club's finances and the changes in the boardroom.

Questions should be mailed to philh@qpr.co.uk by 2pm on Wednesday, with "POWER Q&A" in the subject line.
